Many phylogeographic studies focused on impacts of the last Quaternary glacial period on geographic distribution of the genetic diversity for temperate species. But only few studies aimed to answer the same questions for cold adapted species. With my actual project, I will aim to define some outstanding traits in the demographic history of the four species of leaf beetles forming the subgenus Goniomena, which all are characterized by a boreo-mountane distribution in Eurasia. The information carried by mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences of individuals sampled on the entire geographic distributions will be analysed intending to point out some similarities between the demographical histories of these species. The presence of any common historical characteristics would allow us to detect the impact of an important historical event that would have affected the evolution of boreo-mountainous leaf beetles.
