Course and conference unit

The course and conference unit is situated next to the research unit. The 650 sq. meter building was completed in 1996 and has 44 beds in 16 bedrooms, shared bathrooms, a classroom that seats up to 30 people, a dining room and a kitchen. The classroom has a PC connected to a projector, a slide projector, an overhead projector, and wireless internet access.

Use of the facilities are primarily reserved for courses, seminars and workshops related to alpine studies at the faculties of mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Oslo and University of Bergen. For regular courses and events we hire Tajo AS to run the kitchen and serve all meals.

Note that fire security and safety regulations require us to be present at any organized events, and we receive more requests for using the station than we are able to accommodate. Catering will usually only be available for groups of 15 people or more, staying at least 3 days (unless adjoining other events). For availability, see the event calendar.

To request use of the course and conference unit, please contact the centre manager.
